The 1-Day ACUVUE MOIST Multifocal Brand Contact Lens is a
daily disposable soft multifocal contact lens. Most contact lenses correct
the patient’s nearsighted, farsighted or astigmatic refractive error. In
these cases, their distance vision correction is optimized. The unique
approach of optimizing an optical design based upon the natural
variation that occurs in pupil size across age and refractive error is
novel and is addressing a significant unmet need for the presbyopic
population. This approach illustrates how by better understanding the
anatomical and physiological characteristics of the human eye, more
effective designs can be created. The key understanding here was the
characterization of the natural variation of the human pupil size over
age and refractive power with changes in everyday lighting.

touchscreen interface. There is no need for
